5-minute Major [9 January 2011]

Well, a rough 2010-11 is over for Colts fans; Nick Folk kicked a short one as time expired to give the Jets a 17-16 victory; the ultimate downside here is the continued adulation of Mark Sanchez.....Not Midwest, but an absolute shock and deserving of mention: the lowly, sub-.500 Seahawks knocked off the defending Super Bowl champion Saints, 41-36, paving the way for a Bears/Packers NFC Championship.....Massive upset made possible by a massive day for Alec Burks (36 points); Colorado topped No. 8 Missouri, 89-76.....No. 17 Kansas State was also taken down by an unranked Oklahoma State, 76-62.....Jose Theodore turned away all 26 shots the Penguins flung at him; the Wild won their fourth in a row, 40, and are quietly looking like a playoff team.....The latest Red Line transfer in Chicago is RP Will Ohman, who signed with the White Sox for 2 years and $4 million.....No.15 Notre Dame rode guard Ben Hansbrough's 26 to a 76-61 victory over St. John's.....Who are the Bulls?  Tonight they were the team who outscored the Celtics 90-79, but are they too reliant on 30+ point nights from Derrick Rose?.....It took a shootout for the Redwings to beat the Flames, 5-4.....We'll see just how good Tom Izzo is at righting ships with how he handles a loss to Penn State, 66-62.....Call it losses in 5 of their past 6 games after losing to the Spurs 90-87; the Pacers went from a team no one wanted to play, to a team that will ultimately let you back in the game.....At Ease.
