5-minute Major [6 January 2011]

Happy Hall of Fame Day-After!  Robbie Alomar and Bert Blyleven got the nod this year, both missing their first ballots; but, the HOF was confusing again: Alomar was made to wait a year for spitting on umpires, and Blyleven was forced to wait 13 for -- being fifth all-time in strikeouts and winning 287 games with a career 3.31 ERA all on at least 4 horrible teams; wait to go sportswriters.....The story Hobbserver almost ran this morning (or actually did run if you woke up early) is that Rich Rodriguez was finally bitten by the karma fly; a shady departure from West Virginia begat a sacking from the Wolverines; now, who wants to coach Michigan?  Anyone?  Anyone?.....When Sasha Vujacic ices the game against you, questions will be asked; the Bulls sat Carlos Boozer for the entire 4th quarter, likely for defensive screw ups, in a 96-94 loss to the Nets; if this move encourages Booze and the rest to be wary of Tom Thibodeau's defensive mindset, it could be the coaching move of the season.....Junior Jordan Taylor led Wisconsin with 20 points in a win over the Wolverines 66-50; Wisconsin played shaky at times, and still won by 16; death knell for Michigan?.....Ndamukong Suh will miss the Pro Bowl to undergo surgery on his shoulder.....The Cavs played 5 guards under five feet Wednesday against the Raptors; or at least that's how it seemed as they gave up a ridiculous 62 points in the paint in a 120-105 loss.....Michael Beasley and Kevin Love do not a team make the T-Wolves found in a 108-105 overtime loss to the Bobcats.....At ease.
